Delete your The Dive App account

About this page

The Dive App (iPhone, Android and the-dive-app.com) is operated by POSEIDON DYNAMIC SOLUTIONS LLC (7901 4th Street N, Suite 300, St. Petersburg, FL 33702, USA). You can delete your account and its data yourself at any time, in the app or on the website. Deletion happens right away and cannot be undone.

Delete your account in the app

  • Open The Dive App and sign in.
  • Tap Profile, then Settings.
  • Under Delete Account, tap Delete My Account and confirm.

Delete your account on the website

  • Sign in at the-dive-app.com and open Account.
  • Under Delete account, click Delete my account.
  • Type DELETE and click Permanently delete.

Before you delete

  • Want to keep your dives? In the app's My Dives or the website's Logbook, use Export as spreadsheet (CSV) first.
  • Deleting your account does not cancel a subscription bought through the App Store or Google Play. Cancel it in your Apple ID or Google Play subscription settings so you are not charged again.

What is deleted

Your login, profile, avatar, certifications and certification card images, dive logs and dive computer files, gear, photos, comments, reviews, messages, buddy connections, group memberships, feedback and your other personal data are permanently deleted right away.

What we keep

  • Dive sites you added to the shared site database stay on the map, without your name.
  • Records of Red-tier site warnings and other safety warnings you acknowledged (your account ID, email address and display name at the time, the site, the exact warning text, the date and time, the Terms version, app and device details and IP address). We keep these only to establish or defend legal claims, for as long as such a claim could be brought, and use them for nothing else.
  • Server logs and backups are removed on our providers' normal schedules. Details are in our Privacy Policy at the-dive-app.com/privacy.

Can't sign in? Ask us by email

Email hello@the-dive-app.com from the email address on your account with the subject "Delete my account". We may ask you to confirm it is you, and we delete the account within 30 days. You can also email us to delete only some of your data without deleting your account.
